Lomachenko: Now he’s mine, I can see that Haney is scared

American pushed Vasily at the weigh-in ceremony

Former world champion in three weight divisions Vasily Lomachenko believes that he is the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney lost his temper at the weigh-in ceremony because afraid of a Ukrainian.

“Now he is mine. He has no power. He’s scared. I see it right now and he was 100% scared,” said the Ukrainian.

Recall that the incident occurred during an open weigh-in ceremony. Haney succumbed to the pressure in a brief eye-to-eye duel and pushed Lomachenko away with both hands.

Earlier, boxers held an official closed weigh-in. Haney, after taking off his clothes, met the weight limit, showing 134.9 pounds (61.1 kg). Lomachenko weighed exactly 135 pounds (61.2 kg).

The Lomachenko-Haney fight will take place on May 20 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden and will be broadcast on PPV on ESPN+.

Recall that the MEGOGO service, which previously broadcast Lomachenko’s fights, and also acts as the official broadcaster of Oleksandr Usyk’s fights, refused to show the Lomachenko-Haney fight. The broadcast will be available on the Top Rank YouTube channel in Ukraine.

The referee in the ring will be Harvey Doc from New Jersey. Side judges are Dave Moretti and Tim Cheetham (both from Nevada), as well as David Sutherland (Oklahoma).
