WBC champion offers to return to negotiations on the same terms
WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury called for the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk return to negotiations and fight for the absolute title in the summer.
“I’m sick of all this, he said, she said. Why don’t we just do it?”
“Why don’t we fight this summer, me and you, at Wembley Stadium for the percentage you’ve already agreed on. And if you’re so desperate for a rematch, you can have it. I don’t need rematches. I don’t need anything because I’m going to cut you like cheese. So here’s the suggestion: let’s have a fight at Wembley this summer, me and you.”
“Forget the fight with Deontay Wilder, whom I knocked out twice, and forget the fight with Daniel Dubois, who is not at our level. You already beat Anthony Joshua.”
“I know you didn’t like the negotiations the first time, so let’s see if we can fire it up again and make a good fight for the fans. Let’s start! Make the right decision.”
Earlier Usyk said that the fight with Fury “sooner or later will take place.” The Ukrainian also noted that Tyson is very afraid of losing.
The unification fight between Usyk and Fury was planned to take place on April 29. However, the parties did not reach an agreement and suspended the negotiations. According to manager Egis Klimas, the Gypsy King team demanded too much, no matter how much Usyk compromised.
Fury should return to the ring in the summer. Tyson’s representatives have not yet been able to find him an opponent for the next fight.
Usyk is due to make a mandatory WBA title defense against Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian reported that he plans to fight the Brit at the end of the summer. Three potential venues are being considered for the fight: the UK remains the main option, and the fight could also be organized in Poland and the Middle East.
