Vasily Lomachenko objectively superior to Devin Haney, but the judges thought differently. The former WBC Silver champion shared this opinion with Dmitry Kudryashov .
On Saturday, Haney defeated Lomachenko via unanimous decision (115:113, 115:113, 116:112) and defended the undisputed lightweight world title.
– Did we witness judicial arbitrariness, or was Haney objectively stronger?
– Let me start by saying this was the fight we’ve been waiting for. This is the pinnacle of boxing. It turned out to be a really cool fight both in terms of heat and technical component. I recommend everyone to watch multiple times, as I did. Regarding the question of judicial arbitrariness … I may be biased, because I supported Vasily, but there was no certainty that he would win. And then Vasily exceeded all expectations and won the battle.
Was Haney bad? Or is it exclusively Lomachenko’s merit?
