The gypsy king is sure of his victory
WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury once again spoke about a possible fight against the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
“I would force him to give up. And besides, he would do it quickly enough. I don’t think this fight will last six rounds. Never”.
“Everyone overestimates this guy because of how he outboxed the average fighter in Anthony Joshua. However, Joshua is no longer the same as before. In my opinion, he has given up a lot. And I’m not Joshua. I’m not a big, tight guy who doesn’t let his arms go wild. I would destroy Usyk.”
Earlier Usyk said that the fight with Fury “sooner or later will take place.” The Ukrainian also noted that Tyson is very afraid of losing.
The unification fight between Usyk and Fury was planned to take place on April 29. However, the parties did not reach an agreement and suspended the negotiations. According to manager Egis Klimas, the Gypsy King team demanded too much, no matter how much Usyk compromised.
Fury should return to the ring in the summer. Tyson’s representatives have not yet been able to find him an opponent for the next fight.
Usyk is due to make a mandatory WBA title defense against Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian reported that he plans to fight the Brit at the end of the summer. Three potential venues are being considered for the fight: Great Britain remains the main option, and the fight could also be organized in Poland and the Middle East.
