American boxer confident in Lomachenko’s victory
Flyweight Jemaine Ortiz commented on the result of the duel between Vasily Lomachenko And Devin Haney.
“Lomachenko controlled the fight and landed a lot more accurate shots on Haney than on me.”
“Lomachenko never got behind me, turned me around or controlled the pace with me like he did with Haney. I dictated most of our fight, throwing 5 and 6 punch combinations like he did against Haney. He only hit me one or two at a time because he was afraid that I would hit back.”
Ortiz openly stated his desire to face Haney in the ring.
“You can go back to when I fought in 2020 – I said I wanted to fight Haney.”
The Ukrainian lost in a duel against Haney for the title of absolute world champion in lightweight. According to the results of 12 rounds, the judges gave the victory to the American boxer: 116:114, 115:113, 115:113.
Recall that Lomachenko fought against Ortiz on October 30, 2022. The Ukrainian won by unanimous decision: 115:113, 116:112, 117:111.
