Ivan Parshikov won the third fight in a row and won the ONE belt

After a first victory in Bangkok, Russian MMA fighter Ivan Parshikov said he would like to bring in defending champion Fabricio Andrade.

At the ONE Friday Fights 17 tournament in Bangkok, Ivan Parshikov picked up an early win over China’s Lianyang Siya (7-2) in the first minute of the first round. Parshikov competes in the ONE bantamweight division (up to 65.8 kg).

Already in the first seconds of the fight, Lianyang began to actively work with his feet, and his precise kick to the knee knocked Parshikov to the canvas. The Russian quickly got up and responded with a successful takedown, which turned the fight to the ground for a long time. The Chinese fighter couldn’t get up and Parshikov managed to stay in control, blocking the opponent’s attempts to hold hands. Parshikov pressured Siya, forcing him to work on defending against punches, preventing him from demonstrating his striking technique, exhausting his opponent. Sia managed to free a leg, but Parshikov continued to exert pressure and control even in half guard. Having regained his dominant position, the Russian began to land frequent crushing blows to Siya’s body and head with his hands and elbows.

At 4:15, the referee stopped the beating of Lianyang Xia. Parshikov won by technical knockout and got a bonus for a brilliant performance.

In an in-ring interview after the fight, the Russian demonstrated a good command of the English language. He announced an ambitious bid to take on division champion Fabricio Andrade (9-2), who snatched the belt from John Lineker (35-10) in February this year.

With this win, Ivan Parshikov improved his overall record to 11 wins and 3 losses. In ONE he continues with a series of three victories.

The next tournament in the ONE Friday Fights series will take place in Bangkok on Friday, May 26 at Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok. The card features Russian fighter Andrey Chelbaev, who is currently training in Phuket in Tiger Muay Thai and Ali Kabdullah from Kazakhstan.
