Former ONE Muay Thai Flyweight title challenger Tagir Khalilov will return to the ring on the ONE Fight Night 12 card on July 15th.
The Russian fighter is on a two-fight winning streak against Chorfakh and Black Panther. Both were won by knockout. In total, under the auspices of ONE, the 30-year-old Russian has fought four fights. In the first two – against division champion Rodtang and Denis Pucic – he lost, but managed to rehabilitate and enter the winning streak. In addition to training in Russia, where Khalilov is currently located, he trains in Thailand, including with ONE light heavyweight champion and interim heavyweight champion Anatoly Malykhin.
Mahmoudi was absent from ring ONE for two years. His last fight was in June 2021 at ONE: Full Blast in Singapore, where he lost by decision to Mongkolpetch Petchindi.
The 27-year-old Algerian fighter is a multiple Muay Thai world champion, including WMF, WPMF and MTGP. He began to practice this sport at the age of 5, and already at 9 he won the first competition in Thailand and earned the nickname Sharpshooter. Like Khalilov, he fought in ONE four times and with the same result – two wins and two losses. Unlike his opponent, he got all the wins by decision.
Mahmoudi’s task is to loudly announce his return, while Khalilov must continue his rise to the top of the division and win a fight with the champion – Rodtang.
