The World Boxing Council did not consider the last controversial fight of the Ukrainian boxer.
The WBC has published an updated ranking of lightweight fighters, leaving a spot for Vasily Lomachenko.
It will be remembered that in his last fight, the boxer lost by unanimous decision to Devin Haney, which meant that the Ukrainian had to disappear from the first line on the list.
However, the World Boxing Council probably took into account the controversial result of the fight with the American and did not lower Lomachenko’s rating.
It should be noted that earlier the Ukrainian manager Egis Klimas sent a letter to the WBC with a request to keep the first place in the rating for his ward and make him a mandatory contender. He sent similar letters to the WBA, WBO and IBF.
Remember, despite the defeat, Lomachenko remained in the top 10 ranking of The Ring among boxers, regardless of weight category.
