The Briton commented on the words of Deontay Wilder that the Ukrainian world champion is afraid of the American
WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury commented on the words of the ex-world champion Deontay Wilder about being a WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF champion in the heavyweight division Oleksandr Usyk afraid of the American.
“Usyk is a bitch, I already told you that. He fled from the fight on April 29, coming up with a million excuses, ”said the Briton on social networks.
The unification fight between Usyk and Fury was planned to take place on April 29. However, the parties did not reach an agreement and suspended the negotiations. According to manager Egis Klimas, the Gypsy King team demanded too much, no matter how much Usyk compromised.
Usyk is preparing for his next fight with British Daniel Dubois. The fight is scheduled to take place on August 12 in Wroclaw, Poland. Previously, options for holding a championship fight in the UK and the Middle East were considered.
K2 Promotions Ukraine paid 8 million dollars for the right to organize the Usyk-Dubois fight. The Ukrainian will receive 75% of the total prize fund – $6 million. Dubois can count on 25% – 2 million.
The WBA ordered Usyk to defend his title against Dubois. If the Briton is unable to take part in the fight due to an injury or for any other reason, the Ukrainian will be assigned a fight with the next opponent in the WBA rating. He is the former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder.
Usyk last fought in August 2022, defeating Anthony Joshua in a rematch by split decision. Dubois knocked out Kevin Lehren of South Africa in December 2022 and defended his WBA regular title.
