Russian MMA fighter Fyodor Emelianenko said his next fight is scheduled for the fall, but there is no exact date yet.
Emelianenko had his last fight last year at the Bellator 269 tournament, where the Russian defeated American Timothy Johnson by knockout. Bellator management does not deny that Emelianenko could challenge for the title in a rematch with fellow American Ryan Bader.
– When will there be official news on the continuation of your career?
– When there is clarity. I was told to prepare for the fall. There will be a fight in the fall, but there is no date yet,” Emelianenko said.
– You do not have the impression that the nomination for the position of president of the MMA Union will take you away from the fight for the title?
– No, everything is discussed, it came to nothing. There will be more. I hope Bader agrees.
– Are there alternatives?
So there will be another opponent. Someone from the top 5, not Valentin (Moldovan), of course, but we’ll see who.
Emelianenko has 40 wins and 6 losses in his MMA career.
