Reznikov told what he expects from his rival Vartanyan in the ASA Grand Prix Final

ACA Grand Prix Finalist Artem Reznikov in an interview with shared his opinion that his future rival Edward Vartanyan won’t let him go to the north-south signature and rely on knee strikes.

Reznikov, 31, and his counterpart Vartanyan will fight as part of the ASA Lightweight Grand Prix Final on June 16 in Sochi. The winner will get the chance to participate in the title fight and will also win $200,000 for the victory. In the semifinals, Reznikov and Vartanyan defeated Andrey Koshkin and Yusuf Raisov respectively.

– When they talk about your fight with Vartanyan, they discuss whether he will be able to prepare for the North-South technique, which you do very well.

– And I’m not focusing on the North-South for this fight, because I’m not going to do it. I am preparing to work the five rounds. After I transfer him, Eduard will roll over on his stomach, he always does that in every fight, and it will all depend more on the work at the back.

– What else do you do with techniques, apart from “North-South”?

– In training, I make a good triangle with my hands.

– What can you say about Vartanyan as a person?

– I don’t know him closely, we only met at press conferences, but from the outside I like him.

What vulnerabilities do you think he sees in you?

– He will try to answer from the knee. Press. It will force me to do takedowns so that I get tired,” Reznikov said in an interview with .

Reznikov is currently on a 10-fight winning streak in the lightweight division. Vartanyan has won the last 7 fights.
