Devin ready to fight for WBC light welterweight title
Promoter Eddie Hearn declared that the undisputed world champion in lightweight Devin Haney contacted him discussing a possible fight against the WBC light welterweight champion Regis Prograis.
“I believe we can make this fight,” Hearn said.
Recall that Prograis will defend his title with Australian Liam Paro. The fight will take place on June 17 in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center.
Prograis had his last fight in November last year. In the fight for the WBC light welterweight title, the American defeated Jose Cepeda.
Haney defeated Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko in his last fight. The sports community spoke out about the unfair decision of the judiciary. At the same time, WBC President Mauricio Suleiman supported the decision of the judges, pointing out that the fight was very close on points.
