‘If he hits you, you’ll fall asleep’ – absolute boxing champion warns Ngannou to beware of fight with Wilder

The absolute world boxing champion at American light welterweight Terence Crawford warned the former UFC champion Francois Ngannou to try to organize a boxing match with the main boxing heavyweights.

This guy is a puncher. He’s doing his thing in MMA but calling out the best heavyweights in the world today… I don’t see him having any luck with any of these guys and that’s just to be honest.

Ngannou has skills. I would tell him to try and fight some of the lower ranked guys first, just to get a feel for it and get used to being in the ring. MMA and boxing are two different things.

If Deontay Wilder hits you, you’ll fall asleep. He will hit you, you will fall asleep. Tyson Fury fell asleep and woke up. I don’t see many other guys being able to wake up. Deontay Wilder is one of the most powerful punchers of all time, so keep that in mind,” Crawford quoted The MMA Hour as saying.

Ngannou (17-3 in MMA) defended the UFC heavyweight belt on January 22, 2022 and then negotiated extensively with the organization, during which the parties failed to reach an agreement. After that, the fighter left the promotion.

Boxing tournaments are broadcast live on the federal channel and the thematic channels of the holding, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
