The WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion spoke about the idea of fighting in Poland.

Oleksandr Usyk says why he decided to hold his next fight in Poland. It will be remembered that the WBA, WBO and IBF super heavyweight champion must defend his title against Briton Daniel Dubois. The duel should take place on August 26 in Wroclaw.

The Ukrainian boxer said that the place was not chosen by chance. According to Oleksandr, many Ukrainians will come to his performance in Poland and during the show, will be quite distracted by the war. In addition, the boxer thanked the Polish people for helping our country during the massive Russian invasion.

“I am very happy to be in Poland. Seven years ago I fought with Krzysztof Glowacki, and now we are trying to organize a fight in Wroclaw.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Polish people, who welcomed thousands of my compatriots. One of my tasks now is to organize a battle in Dubois so that the Ukrainians can safely arrive and watch the show. It was a breath of joy for them in a difficult situation.

When I heard about this opportunity, I didn’t care if it was Krakow, Warsaw or Wroclaw. I just liked the idea of fighting in Poland.

I thank God that it will be Wroclaw, because it is about 300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. You can get there pretty quickly by car,” Usyk told TVP Sport.

It was previously known how much Usyk and Dubois will earn for the upcoming fight.
