The former world champion spoke about one of the main problems on the way to the world title.

Alexander Gvozdyk is at a crossroads. On the one hand, in Ukraine it is forbidden to compete with the representatives of the aggressor countries, on the other hand, the Russians are the holders of the light heavyweight champion titles.

According to the former world champion, who dreams of regaining his belt, his countrymen will understand if he fights a boxer from a terrorist country.

“First, I don’t organize fights. Second, now everyone says that you shouldn’t box or compete in the same arena with Russian boxers. I don’t know, it’s a difficult question. In on the one hand, yes, because if the Russians box , they increase the authority of their state, but on the other hand, we will not play chess with them, but beat each other … If I beat a Russian, I don’t think anyone in Ukraine is very upset.

I don’t know how to do it now. But let’s see what happens in the future. Because now I don’t care about Bivol boxing for the WBA title. Of course, I hope Canelo wins this time. But if he doesn’t win, what should I do? I have to fight for the title.

I say again: if this happens, and he is Russian, I will not go there to hug, but to fight,” said Gvozdyk in an interview with the YouTube channel Dva Bokovykh.

We remind you, earlier Gvozdyk said when he will be ready for the title fight.
