The Ukrainian continues his way to the championship fight
Former World Light Heavyweight Champion Alexander Gvozdyk (19-1, 15 KOs) said who he would like to fight next. Ukrainian wants to enter the ring with the British Joshua Buatsy (17-0, 13 KOs).
“I would like to fight Joshua Buatsi because he is number one in the WBA. Now there is such a plan – to move in this direction. Let’s see how it will be. I think I’m number six. I’m in the top 10,” Gvozdyk said.
“How many fights do I need to fight to be psychologically ready for a title fight? It’s hard to say, but if it’s Buatsi and I pass it, if it’s an eliminator, then of course in the next fight I’ll be ready to fight for the title.”
Earlier Gvozdyk said that his next goal is a rematch with Artur Beterbiev. In October 2019, Gvozdyk lost to Beterbiev in a unification bout for the IBF and WBC light heavyweight belts.
Gvozdyk had his last fight in May. The Ukrainian in the 6th round knocked out the Latvian boxer Richards Bolotniks, having obtained the second victory after the resumption of his career.
