Stars of boxing, judo and kickboxing will participate in the SPIEF Sports Games tournaments

Spectacular tournaments with the participation of the leaders of the Russian national team in boxing, judo, kickboxing and aikido will be held within the framework of the Sports Games of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum with the support of the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation – RK-Sport.

Russian boxers were the first representatives of Olympic sports to return to the world championships under the country’s flag. 2023 World Cup bronze medalist Vsevolod Shumkov will lead the Leningrad side to the Boxing Victory Cup. SPIEF will host two quarter-finals of the tournament: Leningrad will meet Sibir, Tula will play a match with Kavkaz. La Liga Stavok has become the general partner of the Victory Cup. Also at the SPIEF-2023 exhibition, the stand of the Russian Boxing Federation will work again.

“The participation of the leaders of the Russian team in the biggest forums is becoming a good tradition. Last year, at SPIEF, we launched the Victory Cup, and at the Eastern Economic Forum, we organized a Russia-Asia match. This year, the Russian Boxing Federation will continue to speak for itself and is ready to share successful examples of organizing tournaments in new formats,” said Tatyana Kiriyenko, General Secretary of the Russian Boxing Federation.

2023 World Judo Championship silver medalist Inal Tasoev will join Team Yawara Neva in the Yawara Challenge tournament. Also, 2016 Olympics winner Khasan Khalmurzaev, 2021 world champion Iago Abuladze and other prominent judokas will compete for Russia’s premier club. Other participants in the club tournament will be Lokomotiv from Nalchik, Belarusian Staiki and Kazakh Zhenys.

“It is important that the Yawara Challenge takes place again in an international format. “Stayki” and “Zhenys” showed themselves in the Continental Judo League, although they did not reach the final. But in St. Petersburg they will have the opportunity to meet the strongest clubs in Russia,” said Sergey Soloveichik, President of the Russian Judo Federation.

For the first time, SPIEF will host a kickboxing tournament – the SCO Cup. In the main bouts of the evening, Russian kickboxing star Vladislav Tuinov will face Haofeng Tan from China, and Russian martial arts legend Alexander Stetsurenko will challenge Maxim Spodarenko from Belarus. “I am sure that this brilliant event will become an incentive to unite people around the values of fair sports competition and mutual understanding,” said Batu Khasikov, Chairman of the Supreme Supervisory Board of the Russian Kickboxing Federation.

In addition, the traditional International Aikido Festival of White Nights 2023 will be held under the auspices of SPIEF. Its participants will train and demonstrate aikido, kenjutsu and jo-do techniques. The aim of the festival is to popularize and develop aikido in Russia within the framework of strengthening friendly and cultural ties between cities and clubs of Russia, CIS countries and abroad, improving skills and the exchange of experiences.
