Former WBC American Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder noted that the December duel offered to him against the British Antoine Joshua in Saudi Arabia, has a good chance of coming to fruition.
– The proposal was received and discussed. It’s the real thing. I think the fight will happen. When you deal with Saudi Arabia, it will always be the peak of someone’s career,” Wilder told Mirror Fighting.
Wilder, 37, held the WBC heavyweight title from 2015 to 2020 and successfully defended the belt 10 times before losing to Tyson Fury in October 2021. Joshua, 33, has 25 wins and three losses in 28 fights professionals.
