Ukrainian welterweight boxer believes that it is important for Sergey to withstand the onslaught of the starting rounds
Ukrainian welterweight boxer Taras Shelestyuk shared his expectations from the battle of the Ukrainian Sergei Derevyanchenko with a Mexican Jaime Munguia.
“This is a good and exciting fight. There will be a lot of fireworks. But in the halls of Los Angeles, people say almost nothing about this fight. Everyone is talking about the Spence-Crawford fight right now.”
“Sergey has more experience and he always presses opponents, throws a lot of punches and takes rounds with this. I hope that Derevyanchenko came to this fight physically prepared and will be able to keep pace for all 12 rounds.
“Munguia is a young boxer who is gaining experience. I don’t follow him much, but his record says he has a powerful punch. Jaime is about 10 centimeters taller than Sergei, and the fact that he has not yet been in very difficult fights is a big plus for him.”
“I don’t think this fight will go all rounds. I hope Sergey will be careful in the first rounds and will not make mistakes so as not to get knocked down in the first rounds.
Derevyanchenko will take his toll after 4-5 rounds and will be able to bring this fight to victory, better by knockout or technical knockout. Because, knowing how the judges work on the show at Golden Boy, they may not give the victory on points.
Previously, Derevyanchenko and Munguia were weighed in before their fight. Both boxers showed the same value – 75.8 kg (167.4 pounds), and entered the limit of the second middle weight category.
