“You can’t say that I went professionally to the ‘Match TV Victory Cup’ battle – Ruslan Kolesnikov

Representative of the Leningrad team Ruslan Kolesnikov admitted that he did not fully feel the owner of the ring in the fight with the boxer from “Siberia” Stanislav Sotskov in the ” Victory Cup”.

On Thursday in St. Petersburg there is a match meeting between the teams “Leningrad” and “Siberia” (boxers from the federal districts of Siberia and the Far East). Kolesnikov, who competed in the weight category up to 80 kg, defeated Sotskov by unanimous decision of the judges and won the final victory for the Leningrad team.

– You cannot fully say that I entered the ring professionally. I had a long period of time where I didn’t fight. So now I had to take some time to get involved. Native walls always help, add confidence. The opponent was a bit uncomfortable, he was constantly moving and I couldn’t finish the whole plan. I think it’s a good warm-up before the next stage,” Kolesnikov told reporters.

Kolesnikov made his professional in-ring debut exactly one year ago at the SPIEF tournament.

“In the future, I will fight mainly in Olympic boxing, combining it with professional boxing,” he added.

The boxing tournament ” Victory Cup” is held within the framework of the XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (June 15-18). Gazprom-Media Holding is the general media partner of SPIEF-2022.
