2021 World Championship Russian Boxer Silver Medalist Djambulat Bijamov says he is still hoping for a trip to the Paris Olympics.
Bijamov, as part of the Urals team, took part in the first stage of the Victory Cup. Despite Bizhamov’s victory over Beslan Bogatyrev, the Urals team lost to boxers from Moscow in the quarterfinals.
– For the second consecutive year I take part in Victory Cup and I can note the excellent organization, I am very happy to fight here. Recently I changed weight class – from 75 kg to 80 kg. It’s just that this category was removed from the program of the Olympic Games, so there was the choice to go down in the category up to 71 kg or up to 80 kg. It will take several fights to feel as comfortable as possible in the new weight. Today I met a great opponent, it was uncomfortable, but I played as expected. Then I will review the fight and work on the mistakes. Among the main upcoming starts is the Russian Championship (in August in Khabarovsk), where I will perform in the category up to 80 kg.
You mentioned the Olympics. That is to say, there is still hope for a trip to Paris?
– Double reflection on the admission of Russian athletes to the Olympic Games. In any case, you need to set goals, go to them and not sit unmotivated, ”reports a correspondent in the words of Bizhamov.
The Victory Cup 2023 will be broadcast in full on or Match! Fighter”.
