Current UFC Champion Islam Makhachev ruled out his participation in the fight for the BMF belt.
“This belt is for idlers. Who was the first to fight for this belt? Diaz and Masvidal. People who never had the chance to become champions. We give them a kind of belt, the guys are happy, they fight for BMF. To be honest, if someone gives me this belt tomorrow… I don’t want this shit,” MiddleEasy quoted Makhachev as saying.
Americans Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje (lightweight) at UFC 291 will fight for the vacant BMF belt, which until recently belonged to Jorge Masvidal. The latter had previously left the promotion. The fight is scheduled for July 29 in Salt Lake City (USA).
UFC tournaments are broadcast live on the channel, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
