The promoter is confident in the future fight
Promoter of two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, Eddie Hearnexpressed his confidence regarding a possible duel between his client and Deontaem Wilder.
“As long as the official contract is sent, we are absolutely sure that the fight will take place. I can’t speak for Deontay Wilder, but I’m very confident that he will accept the money and agree to fight Joshua, the deal will come from Saudi Arabia.”
“It is important for us to make sure that all of our contracts are respected. This likely means that a multi-platform deal will be made that night. We can’t break our agreements, but I don’t think that will be a problem.”
Recall that Skill Challenge Entertainment plans to host a fight in the Middle East between two ex-world champions Joshua and Wilder, as well as a fight between WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC champion Tyson Fury.
Wilder last entered the ring in October 2022, when the boxer defeated Robert Helenius in the first round. Joshua plans to fight Dillian Whyte in August to get in shape for the Wilder fight.
