Russian MMA fighter Vladimir Mineev said he was starting to think about what he would do after his sports career ended.
Since February 2023, the 33-year-old fighter has been serving in the NVO area. On Tuesday, AMC Fight Nights chief Kamil Gadzhiev said Mineev will next fight at Elista on September 15.
You said you didn’t want to end your career. What will your sporting future look like after the fights with Ivan Shtyrkov and Magomed Ismailov?
“It depends on how the fights go. The age of an athlete is short-lived, it was not for nothing that Gadzhiev began to talk about a farewell fight. I am really already 33 years old, and I have to think about ending my career. Whether this fight will take place in Ulyanovsk, I cannot say.
There are some plans for what I will do after martial arts. But for this you need to finish with the whole fighting and sports career. It happens that you look at the older boys you practiced with and remember their words that are always very difficult to complete. I constantly want to go back and relive those feelings and sensations in the cage or in the ring.
Of course, my further activity will be the continuation of public initiatives in connection with mixed martial arts in the Ulyanovsk region. We need to grow and help promising young people. Perhaps engage in creativity to make it easier for them to achieve their goals.
I wouldn’t limit myself to just one sport. I am interested in everything related to the development of children in sports, – the correspondent of reports Mineev’s words.
