– As soon as I left Wushu Sanda, moved to Dagfighter club, I only did what I fought, but there was more net wrestling. Freestyle wrestling and wrestling for MMA are slightly different things. It’s more convenient for me to fight according to the rules of MMA, I’m used to it, but I had no experience in freestyle wrestling, we can say that this is my first experience. In MMA there is a network that you can rely on, and there is also a moment of control, and here you are working all the time. Even if you fall, you have to get up and earn points again, and your whole body is constantly working. In MMA you can transfer, take a stand, rest, fight, there are more failures than here.
– You don’t look big for the 65.8 kg category, how much do you weigh between fights?
– 72-73 kg. I ride a little, but thanks to that I feel fresh afterwards.
– In your weight, Yair Rodriguez and Alex Volkanovski should fight for the UFC championship belt. How do you think this will end?
– On the contrary, I will support Volkanovski. Maybe people will condemn me from the outside that I have a bad attitude towards Yair, but living with my brother Zabit during the period when we prepared for a fight with him three times, and he broke down … In general, I left a residue difficult to wash off. So I don’t think Yair will technically be able to resist Volkanovski, nor will he stop with his character. Especially after the fight Volkanovski had with Islam.
– What do you think is happening with Petr Yan (statistics of the former UFC Russian champion over the last five fights: 1 win and 4 losses)?
– Seems to me like the UFC started treating him somehow… I don’t even know how to explain it, but he didn’t lose the fight with Algemain Sterling.
