Muslim Salikhov told how Zabit Magomedsharipov explained his departure from MMA

UFC fighter Muslim Salikhov who trained with Zabit Magomedcharipov told how Zabit explained his decision to quit playing MMA.

Salikhov and Magomedsharipov are graduates of Gusein Magomayev’s Five Directions of the World School, both long-time wushu-sanda practitioners. The fighters made their UFC debut in 2017, but Zabit retired after 2019, winning six out of six UFC bouts.

– You have known Zabit for a long time. And how did he answer the question why he won’t be performing again?

We haven’t talked about it in detail. He said, “I’m tired, and that’s it.” Zabit is laconic. I think he’s really tired of fighting. If he’s made a decision then why convince him, maybe he has other priorities.

We recently spoke with his younger brother, Hassan. Is Zabit more talented, if you take natural talent?

– Hasan is at a good level, he scored a fight, but Zabit is a talent, which are few. He had a super level fighting mentality.

– And the combative thought can appear at 13-15 years? You saw it at that age.

“It’s hard to see that at 13, but he stood out in his youth. And in adult performances it started to show,” Salikhov told .

Earlier, Magomedsharipov repeatedly challenged current title contender in the up to 65.8kg category, Yair Rodriguez, but the fight was not staged, despite attempts by the UFC.

The next UFC Fight Night tournament will be held in Las Vegas (USA), in the main fight the Italian Marvin Vettori and the American Jared Cannonier will meet. Russian Muslim Salikhov will face Dane Nicholas Dalby. Watch the live broadcast on the channel on June 18 from 5:00 a.m. (Moscow time), and from 01:55 a.m. (Moscow time) on Match!
