Croatian ready to fight if AJ fails to reach agreement with Dillian Whyte
Croatian heavyweight boxer Filip Hrgovic ready to take on the former world champion Anthony Joshuaif the Briton fails to agree on a duel with Dillian Whyte.
“I will destroy him. If he comes in the way he was against Franklin, I will destroy him. I expected more. I thought that AJ was going to knock out Jermaine, but he was too careful and did not let go of his hands, ”said Hrgovic.
“It was a decent performance, but nothing outstanding. He needs more fights to get back to his real form. People expect more from the former two-time champion. He was a bit slow and sleepy, not aggressive. If he wants to be a champion again, then I’m in his way. I am IBF mandatory and he should fight me next.”
Promoter Eddie Hearn has previously revealed that Joshua is in talks to fight White. The fight is scheduled to take place on August 12 in London.
Hrgovic defeated Chinese heavyweight Zhang Zhilei last August to win IBF mandatory challenger status. The Croatian is not against a rematch with the Chinese. Hrgovic is also aiming for a fight with WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk if the fight between the Ukrainian and Daniel Dubois does not take place.
