Russian MMA fighter Edward Vartanyan told how he would act in a potential fight against the UFC champ Islam Makhachev .
On Friday in Sochi, Vartanyan defeated Kazakh Artem Reznikov by TKO in the third round of the ACA Grand Prix Final. The fight was held at lightweight. Russian Makhachev is the reigning UFC lightweight champion.
Earlier, Vartanyan told that he hasn’t considered joining the UFC yet, but would consider it if he receives a contract offer from this organization.
– I would choose a variety of tactics for the battle against Islam. I would go for the right front arm, right leg, work against lefty. I would change floors, cheat, including using wrestling.
Would I be interested in meeting Islam? When he is champion, yes, of course. I’m interested in achievements, I’m interested in challenges. Makhachev is the UFC champion, he is like a red rag for anyone who wants to win the lightweight title, Vartanyan told .
