The Ministry of Sports has suspended the accreditation of the MMA Union of Russia

The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation has suspended the accreditation of the Union of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) of Russia for three months, according to the organization’s website.

The corresponding order was signed by Acting Sports Minister Azat Kadyrov on June 15. Control over the execution of the order is entrusted to Deputy Sports Minister Odes Baisultanov.

Earlier in June, a 16-year-old athlete died after a missed blow to the head during the Mixed Martial Arts Open Cup in Belogorsk (Amur region). A criminal case has been initiated against the head of the Amur Region MMA Federation.
