Former UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion Henry Cejudo announced that he was forced to withdraw from the battle with Marlon Vera from Ecuador due to injury.
“Unfortunately, because of my right shoulder, I won’t be able to fight. Previously, he had already injured his left shoulder when he was out of action for about a year. I don’t want it to get worse already,” Cejudo wrote on social media.
The fight was scheduled to take place on August 19 in Boston as part of UFC 292.
Cejudo retired in the spring of 2020 but returned in May 2023 when he lost a split decision to UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. In total, the 36-year-old fighter has 16 wins and 3 losses in MMA, 30-year-old Vera has 20 wins and 8 losses, another fight involving the Ecuadorian ended in a draw.
Live broadcasts of mixed martial arts tournaments take place on the federal channel, matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
