Khamzat Chimaev competes in the UFC and currently ranks fourth in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg). In 2013, the fighter moved to Sweden and represented that state until flags were abolished in the UFC. – How did you perceive what happened in Stockholm? – a question to Artur Chimaev, the athlete’s older brother.
– It’s unpleasant. Annoying when someone hurts feelings in terms of religion. It is the most sacred – for every Muslim, religion comes first. The Swedish authorities, when their integration policy has failed, no longer know what to do. They started taking children, mostly from Muslim families, LGBT teachers to schools. Then the children come home from school and start this subject, their parents tell them: “It’s not ours, it’s the reverse system.” Then the child returns to school, and they are already working on it. They ask what is at home, what is forbidden to them, what they listen to. In general, such a policy that the social service can intervene in the upbringing of the family. Sometimes children are taken away.
If I understood correctly, they wanted to increase their population at the expense of the people who arrived, because the Europeans are now people who, in order not to have children, would prefer to have a dog. And they thought they could educate everyone. But their integration policy failed, and now they are furious and allow such circuses.
– Do you think that one day you will leave Sweden?
– And I came back to Chechnya two years ago, took all my children. Only Khamzat lives there with his wife. And Khamzat… I think he also has in mind to leave this country, he didn’t take certain steps, but he thought about it. He just has the whole team there. They are not all Muslims, but their points of view are the same. You say you too are outraged by such things, so it’s with him: the coach and manager are not Muslims, but they condemn such actions. It is such a policy. I don’t know where they took the course.
– Khamzat flew to Ireland to fight Conor, taught Alexander Gustafsson not to show middle finger. Are you sure he won’t react harshly now?

– So far we focus on 84 kg, if in Abu Dhabi, but there is no official contract. He used to weigh 95-96 kg, now he has dropped to 90 kg, he does at least 2-3 workouts a day.
