Former WBO world champion Australian boxer Geoffrey Horn talked about memory problems.
The 35-year-old ex-boxer noted he had lucrative offers but didn’t want to risk his health. Horn became the WBO champion after beating Manny Pacquiao in 2017.
“I could accept a million dollar offer for another fight, but my physical health is more important than my financial health. To be honest, I have my own concerns.
I had some memory problems. I got tested and was told that if I continued to fight, there was a high risk that the situation would get worse and that the brain would suffer even more. I have to protect myself because I want to remember my daughters’ names and the great moments in their lives. The results showed that my memory is below average for a normal person my age.
I don’t remember what a person my age should remember. There is no training that could improve my memory. Once you’ve messed up your brain, there’s no going back. I liked being a boxer, that’s for sure, but now I have a bigger job, A Bola quotes the words of the boxer.
