ACA President said he would make efforts to stage Raisov – Reznikov revenge

ASA League President Alexei Yatsenko in a chat with said he would do everything possible to arrange a rematch between a Kazakh mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. Artem Reznikov and Russian Yusuf Raisov not even in the lightweight Grand Prix format.

Because of Reznikov, 30, 22 wins and six losses in MMA, while the Kazakh fighter last entered the octagon in September 2020, when he beat Russia’s Yusuf Raisov by a separate judges’ decision . After that, Reznikov managed to come into conflict with the ASA because of a rematch with Raisov.

The 26-year-old Russian has 19 wins, two losses. Raisov has already reached the Grand Prix semi-finals, where he will meet Eduard Vartanyan. Reznikov on Friday in Sochi in the quarterfinals will meet former UFC fighter Brazilian Davi Ramos. The last pair in the quarterfinals will be Ali Bagov and Rashid Magomedov, whose fight will take place on July 22 in Sochi.

The conversation took place before the weigh-in of the ACA 140 tournament with the participation of Reznikov, during which Kazakhstan could not meet the category.

– As a fan, I announced that I would like to see the fight of Artem Reznikov against Ali Bagov in the semifinals. We know about another pair of semi-finalists – Yusuf Raisov and Eduard Vartanyan, – Yatsenko told .

– Then another question as a simple MMA fan. Many people want to see the Raisov-Reznikov final.

“I would just like to see this fight. It doesn’t matter – in the Grand Prix Final or after. The Grand Prix brings together strong fighters. I think the fans won’t be upset if this fight doesn’t happen as part of the Grand Prix. It’s clear that at first the fans will be upset if one or both of them don’t reach the final, but then everyone will be happy.

– And now, as the head of the league, can you promise that the meeting between Raisov and Reznikov will take place?

– I’ll do my best.

– And what could be the problem?

– According to my understanding, there can be no hiccups in anything. The league has its plans, and the guys have theirs. We signed contracts with everyone under the same conditions: here they participate in the Grand Prix, and after the tournament we did not impose any obligations on them. If they have other options… But as practice shows, one should not refuse the best offers. For me, this fight is very real.
