American fighter Josiah Harrell has pulled out of his upcoming fight against Australian Jack Dell Maddalena at UFC 290 after undergoing a brain MRI.
The fighter was diagnosed with Moyamoya syndrome, a rare condition that causes blockages in the arteries at the base of the brain.
According to USA Today, according to Harrell’s manager, the athlete will have to undergo brain surgery in the near future.
For Harrell, 24, the upcoming fight was supposed to be his UFC debut. He has seven wins in seven fights.
