Shakur wants a big bout at lightweight
Former world featherweight and super featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson again turned to the ex-world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko with an offer to fight.
“Nothing but respect, champ, you deserve these belts. I hope you recovered and are doing well. I think it’s time for real chess. I’m ready for the big fight, champ. Let’s do something,” Stevenson tweeted.
Stevenson previously said that Lomachenko should have become the undisputed lightweight champion of the world after the fight with Devin Haney. Shakur called the American to a fight, and also expressed a desire to fight Vasily.
Shakur defeated Japan’s Shuichiro Yoshino in his lightweight debut. Stevenson has become the official contender for the WBC title and claims to fight the undisputed lightweight champion Haney. Devin defeated Lomachenko by unanimous decision in May and retained the championship titles.
Yoo @VasylLomachenko Nothing but respect champ u deserved them belts I hope u healed up and everything is all good wit you.. I think it’s time for a REAL high skill level chess I’m ready for a big fight champ let’s make something happen 🤝
