Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter Charles Oliveira has confirmed he is not ready to have a rematch with UFC champion Russia’s Islam Makhachev in October.
In June, former UFC lightweight champion Oliveira defeated American Beneil Dariush by TKO and challenged Makhachev for a rematch. League chief Dana White has announced that he is ready to organize this fight. Earlier, Makhachev spoke about his plans to hold his next fight in October at a tournament in Abu Dhabi.
– I really want to fight for the belt, but if it happens in October, it will be too early for me. Especially if the fight takes place in Abu Dhabi. But I am ready to fight in November or December, — quotes the words of Oliveira MMA Junkie.
Earlier, insider Aaron Bronsteter wrote that Oliveira wants to postpone a possible rematch with Makhachev to late 2023, referring to the Brazilian fighter’s comments.
Oliveira has 34 wins and 9 losses in his MMA career. Makhachev’s professional record is 24 wins and one loss.
