Former UFC champion in two weight classes Conor McGregor wrote and deleted a tweet in which he named the date of the fight with the American Michael Chandler .
The fighters were previously scheduled to meet on December 16 at the UFC 296 tournament in Las Vegas (USA), but McGregor has not yet returned to the USADA pool, which is why he cannot sign a contract for the fight.
“December,” McGregor wrote on Twitter in response to a follower’s question about the date of the fight.
Later, the Irishman posted a post with a Santa Claus emoji, and after a while he posted a photo of his possible rival with the caption: “It’s official! Chandler is a silly sandwich.” McGregor later deleted the posts from his Twitter page.
To enter a fight, a 34-year-old fighter must be in the USADA pool for at least six months and pass two negative doping tests.
McGregor had his last fight in the summer of 2021 against American Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The Irishman lost by technical knockout in the first round, after breaking his leg.
