Oleksandr Krasyuk, promoter of Ukrainian WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk said it would be perfectly acceptable to deprive a Briton Tyson’s Fury WBC championship belt.
– He can be stripped of the title for one reason only – if he does not follow WBC rules. But, as far as I can tell, Fury respects them. He should designate a new adversary. In fact, he does not violate any WBC rules.
But from a sporting point of view, pure boxing, he should be stripped of his title because he was inactive for so long. And he’s fooling people by announcing fights that won’t happen, Krasyuk said in an interview with SecondsOut.
It was previously announced that the battle between Usyk and Fury, which was scheduled to take place on April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London, has been called off. On the side of the Ukrainian boxer, the Briton made “unacceptable demands”.
Boxing tournaments are broadcast live on the federal channel, matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
