New UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja of Brazil has revealed he needs to find a second job in Florida during the pandemic to make ends meet.

There was not enough money and my wife started cleaning and I started working as a taxi driver. But I would do it again if I had to, you know? It’s not just about me, it’s about my family and my children, my two boys.
A week before the fight with Brandon Royval, I was sick. I was very scared it was covid as I only had a month to pay my bills. I had a knee injury. But I won the fight and got the bonus. I was able to have the surgery, rest for a few months and recover well,” Pantozha said in an interview with The MMA Hour.
Pantoja defeated Mexico’s Brandon Moreno by split decision last week to become the promotion’s champion.
