The World Boxing Council has reacted to the news that the WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson’s Fury in October will host a boxing match against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
The fight will take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on October 28. The number of rounds in the battle is still unknown.
– Fury received special permission from the WBC to fight Francis Ngannou, as there is no official contender for his title. Fury tried to arrange fights with Ruiz, Joshua and Usyk, but no deal was reached, the WBC said in a social media post.
In professional boxing, Fury fought 34 fights and won 33, one fight ended in a draw.
Ngannou has 20 mixed martial arts fights and 17 wins.
