Joshua: Fury vs Ngannou fight is bullshit, but it’s his business

The fight is scheduled for October 28

Former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua commented on the announced fight the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou (17-3, 12 KOs).

“Three thoughts on this. First, I don’t care, it’s none of my business. It doesn’t bother me. It does not bring me any benefit. Second – Why? He was supposed to fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title. Everything is obvious. That’s bullshit. It’s his fault.”

“Third, if we recognize his business, good luck to this man. Do your thing. If it’s right for him, how is it for me? These are my three thoughts on the matter.”

Fury and Ngannou will fight on October 28 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The WBC granted special permission to the “Gypsy King” for this fight. The rules and the number of rounds are still unknown, as well as whether the British champion title will be at stake in the battle between Fury and Ngannou.

Fury has not been in the ring since December 2022, when he defended his WBC title against Derek Chisora. In April, Tyson planned to have a unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but the Ukrainian pulled out of negotiations due to contract disagreements.

Ngannou had his last fight in the UFC in January last year, after which he left the promotion. In May, he signed with the Professional Fighters League.
