The American changed his mind
WBO Light Welterweight World Champion Teofimo Lopez (19-1, 13 KOs) declared that he would not end his career and was ready to defend his title. In addition, the American managed to challenge the absolute world champion in lightweight Devin Haney.
“Hey Devin, you quickly grabbed my WBO belt. Let’s have a fight then. Let’s see who’s really ready for what.
And don’t think you’re going to be the A-side. I have a division king belt. So don’t run away. Bitch!” Lopez tweeted.
Earlier, the WBO gave the American boxer 24 hours to make a career decision.
A few weeks ago, Lopez announced that he was ending his boxing career and was relinquishing his championship title. The American said that he deserves a bigger fee for his fights.
In the last fight, Lopez defeated Briton Josh Taylor. Following the results of 12 rounds, the judges unanimously awarded the victory to the American – 115:113, 115:113 117:111.
