Russian heavyweight Sergei Kuzmin turned out to be five kilograms heavier than the Mexican Herman Garcia Montes on the eve of their fight as part of a boxing evening in St. Petersburg.
Kuzmin, 36, has 18 wins and two losses, the Russian will step into the ring for the first time in 2023. Montes, 35, has eight wins and five losses. In his last fight, the Mexican lost in March to Russian Ruslan Faifer by a separate decision of the judges.
The official weighing took place on the territory of the Peter and Paul Fortress. Kuzmin’s weight was 110 kg, Montes – 105 kg.
Also on July 20 in St. Petersburg, Alexei Mazur will play his ninth fight in the professional ring. Argentinian Carlos Daniel Cordoba will face the Russian in an 8-round fight. Both boxers showed the same weight, remaining within the limit of the lightweight category – 61.2 kg.
The tournament will be broadcast live on the channel on July 20 in St. Petersburg, the broadcast starts at 7:30 p.m. Moscow time.
