Gennady Mashyanov, trainer of the Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol said he wanted to see his athlete’s name in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
– For coaches, the biggest dream is usually to raise a world champion among professionals. My second oddity was for a student to enter the ring in a relic place like Madison Square Garden, where all the great athletes competed, whose names are written in gold letters in boxing history. Dima has done it all. After that, he was still recognized as the best at the end of the year and regardless of weight classes. What other desires could there be? Of course, I want him to become the absolute champion in one of the categories, and his name has been noted in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. And all this is quite feasible, – said Mashyanov RT.
The undefeated Bivol has 21 victories in the professional ring. The Russian has been recognized as the best boxer of 2022 by numerous publications and organizations, including the WBA.
