Bellator fighter Andrei Koreshkov believes that the second fight against the Brazilian Charles Oliveira will be for russian Islam Makhachev More difficult.
Earlier, the UFC announced that the rematch between Makhachev and Oliveira for the lightweight title will take place on October 21 at a tournament in Abu Dhabi and will become its main event. In October 2022, Makhachev defeated the Brazilian via rear naked choke in the second round to become the promotion champion.
– I can see that Oliveira is not mentally broken. Having lost the first fight against Islam by submission, he must have been very upset, as his own strong side worked against him. But, entering the fight with Dariush in underdog status, Oliveira knocked him down beautifully. It means he’s not broken and he’ll have confidence, and the win gave even more confidence. The second fight with Makhachev will be fundamentally different from the first. Islam will have a much harder time,” Koreshkov told RB Sport.
Oliveira has 34 wins and 9 losses in his MMA career. Makhachev’s record is 24 wins and one loss.
