Coach Berinchyk Golub on the fight with Yigit: We do everything to show spectacular boxing, defend the title and bring it back to Ukraine

The championship fight will take place on August 26

Egor Golubcoach of WBO International lightweight title holder Denis Berinchyk (17-0, 9 KOs), spoke about the preparation of the Ukrainian for the duel with the Swede Anthony Yigit (27-3-1, 10 KOs).

“We are preparing for all 12 rounds. Our opponent is strong. We understand that Yigit will be very motivated as he has already been defeated by Denis at the London Olympics. And for him it will be a rematch, so we do not expect an easy walk. With this in mind, we work hard in the training camp. Everything goes according to plan. We are doing everything to show a very beautiful spectacular boxing on August 26, defend our title and bring it to Ukraine again,” Golub said.

“The plans for the fight are to do everything in the best traditions. God forbid that there were no injuries. Our goal is to win a bright victory in order to please the Ukrainian fans who will watch us in Ukraine, and those who, as a result, temporarily live in Poland, in Europe and will come to support us.”

“This battle will be for them. And, of course, this battle will be for the Armed Forces of Ukraine – for all our guys, thanks to whom we can now do our job. We will do everything to win.”

The fight between Berinchyk and Yigit will take place on August 26 on the undercard of the Oleksandr Usyk – Daniel Dubois fight in Wroclaw.

In the last fight, Berinchyk defeated French EBU title holder Ivan Mendy in a unification bout. After this victory, Denis signed a contract with Frank Warren’s promotional company.

In June, Berinchyk was supposed to fight 46-year-old Italian Emiliano Marsili. However, the Ukrainian refused to fight and vacated the EBU lightweight belt.
