The Australian plans to fight at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne
IBO lightweight title holder George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) announced that he plans to fight the ex-world champion in three weight categories next Vasily Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs).
“Don’t worry about me. I had all the belts in lightweight. We have a big fight ahead of us at the stadium, we will fight Lomachenko. Here is the fight! He is more open to hitting and engaging in fights. I want to fight and it’s a big fight that I’m ready for.”
Kambosos plans to fight at the Mervel Stadium in Melbourne. The Australian previously fought Devin Haney in the 56,000-seat arena, losing his IBF, WBO, WBA Super, WBC Franchise belts.
In his last fight, Kambosos defeated Britain’s Maxi Hughes to win the IBO lightweight title. Also, George became the second number in the IBF ranking, which allows him to fight for the vacant title. Lomachenko is third on the list for this lightweight version.
Vasily in his last fight lost to Devin Haney in a duel for the title of undisputed world lightweight champion. The Ukrainian wants a rematch with Haney. Also, promoter Bob Arum said that Lomachenko is being considered as one of the candidates for a fight with Shakur Stevenson.
