Albert Batyrgaziev: ‘I intend to ruin Fromete’s stats’

2020 Russian Olympic Champion Albert Batyrgaziev (8-0, KO 6) July 28 in Khanty-Mansiysk will hold his second fight in 2023. The rival of our titled boxer will be Francis Frometa (17-0, KO 11) from the Dominican Republic.

This lightweight 10-round fight will headline the show “Stavok League. Professional Boxing Night” organized by Dynamo Boxing Promotions with the support of the Russian Boxing Federation.

Albert Batyrgaziev last entered the ring in early February in Serpukhov near Moscow, when he defeated former WBA super champion Jezreel Corrales of Panama by technical knockout in the ninth round. This triumph allowed Batyrgaziev to enter the WBA lightweight rankings, and now the Russian boxer is in seventh place. Frometa is 15th in the WBA rankings. As a result, the upcoming fight between undefeated boxers is important in terms of future championship ambitions.

Frometa last entered the ring last November, when he defeated Argentinean Javier Herrera by eighth-round TKO in Uruguay to retain the WBA Fedelatin lightweight belt. Then Frometa boxed for the first time in his professional career outside the Dominican Republic.

“Yes, my last fight was in February, and I didn’t stand two for almost four months,” began Albert Batyrgaziev. “But now I’ve had a good camp and I’m back in shape. I can’t wait to get in the ring. For me, it is optimal to organize 2-3 fights per year, because I am at such a stage that I am opposed by experienced and qualified opponents. There are not those who, roughly speaking, leave in the short term. Our goal is championship belts, so we take fights very seriously.

– And on July 28, I will face a good opponent, who has zero in the loss column. And that certainly says something. But I plan to be the one to ruin his stats – I plan to hand him the first loss of his career. I admit that thanks to this fight, we intend to enter the top 5 of the WBA rankings. I am sure that success in this confrontation will help me in my career. I am completely focused on the fight in Khanty-Mansiysk,” added Albert Batyrgaziev.

The show’s general partner will be betting company Liga Stavok. The Khanty-Mansiysk tournament will be broadcast live on the channel, the broadcast starts at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time. The tournament will be held at the Tennis Sports Center (Khanty-Mansiysk, Studencheskaya Street, 21). FREE ENTRANCE.
