Mike Tyson: I’m ready to help Ngannou train for Fury fight

Former UFC champ expects advice from Iron Mike or Lennox Lewis

Former legendary boxer and ex-world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson said he was ready to help the former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou (17-3, 12 KOs) prepare for the fight with the WBC champion in Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs). Ngannou had previously said he would like advice from Iron Mike or Lennox Lewis.

“I would like to help him, that would be cool. Fury hits from afar. So when he throws long shots, you get a chance for short shots up close. When he throws a punch, watch – you have to be ready. Boom, hard hit to the body, ”said Iron Mike.

The fight between Fury and Ngannou will take place on October 28 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The WBC granted Tyson a special permit to fight the former UFC champion.

Earlier, Ngannou said that a rematch clause was included in the contract for the fight. The option is activated if the “Gypsy King” is defeated in the first match.

Fury has not been in the ring since December 2022, when he defended his WBC title against Derek Chisora. In April, Tyson planned to have a unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but the Ukrainian pulled out of negotiations due to contract disagreements.

Ngannou had his last fight in the UFC in January last year, after which he left the promotion. In May, he signed with the Professional Fighters League.
