Usyk: Three and a half months of hard work – and still no fight with Fury

World champion prepares to fight Daniel Dubois

WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Usyk spoke about the failure of the fight with the WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

“Three and a half months of incredibly cool work and no fight. Probably, many people or athletes would have broken down. For two days I had thoughts that I did a very cool job. And now I’m back in the hall. I’m already boxing with Tyson Fury. It’s already a fight and maybe it’s his game.”

“I’m in the gym because I have to get in the ring and be ready. My desire is victory. We can prepare, and victory is from the Lord God, but we must be ready.”

“I keep training because I’m a little sick of it. I know what I want, I can do it. My friends, family, people motivate me, and I must give the same back. When they give you love, happiness and joy, give it in a double or triple dose.

Usyk planned to fight Fury for the title of absolute world champion. The Ukrainian withdrew from the negotiations due to contract disagreements.

Usyk’s next fight will be against British heavyweight Daniel Dubois. The fight will take place on August 26 in Wroclaw. In July, Alexander signed a one-year contract with the Polissya football club.
